History of the School
Maruzi Seed Secondary School was started under the wise leadership of the then Apac Town Council in 2014. The growth of the school was guided by an interim Board of Governors, led by the then chairperson, Mr. Opila Faustine, who served as the chairperson of the interim Board of Governors until 2015. In the same year, a new Board of Governors was formed, led by Mr. Ebuu Martin Odwong as the head of the Board of Governors. The growth of the school was further supported by the chairperson of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA), Mr. Apita James, and the headteacher, Mr. Elyak Bosco, who ran the day-to-day operations. Mr. Elyak Bosco was deputized by Ms. Akwero Dolly, who was in charge of Administration.
At the time of its founding, the school began with dedicated teachers who played a key role in its early growth and progress. The dedicated teachers who started the school include: Mr. Okiba Samuel, Mr. Anyii Tonny, Mr. Ekwangu Alfred Echotu, Mr. Awal Robert, Mr. Ocen Moses Isaac, Mr. Otile Benard, and Ms. Ayugi Vanna Okello, including the headteacher (Mr. Elyak Bosco). Mr. Ocun David and Ms. Atim Susan Gwaluma later joined in the second term of 2014.

Ms. Akwero Dolly worked as the caretaker headteacher from January 2022 to July 2022, stepping in after Mr. Elyak Bosco transferred his services to another department. Her leadership helped ensure continuity and security during the transition era.
A major milestone for the school came on 8th April 2015, when it was officially coded and recognized by the government, leading to the recruitment of teachers under the government payroll.
Maruzi Seed Secondary School is a mixed day and boarding school that offers flexible learning choices for students from both nearby communities and distant areas. Since its establishment, the school has grown greatly and currently enrolls over 900 students across both the Ordinary Level (O-Level) and Advanced Level (A-Level) programs.
Strategic oversight is given by the Board of Governors, chaired by Eng. Robert James Ajal, while the Parents and Staff Association (PSA), led by Mr. Abongo Innocent, plays a vital role in supporting the school’s growth and encouraging collaboration within the school community.
